Description

CAL AQUA's Double Counter functions as both a normal-flow and high-flow bubble counter in one elegant design.

Normal-Flow Configuration: For small to medium sized aquariums where CO2 bubble rates are not as high, the normal flow mode can be used to monitor flow rates up to 4 - 5 bubbles per second. The normal-flow configuration produces regular sized bubbles for low CO2 flow rates.

High-Flow Configuration: For larger aquariums, with higher CO2 flow rates the counter can be inverted. When inverted, the unique tapered design permits the formation of larger CO2 bubbles, effectively decreasing the overall number of bubbles per second, slowing down the rate of bubbles through the counter, and allowing easier counting and monitoring.

The increased bubble size in effect decreases the overall number of bubbles passing through the counter per second, while maintaining an equivalent amount of CO2 entering the aquarium as with a typical bubble counter at a set flow rate of up to 10 - 15 bubbles per second. It can be very difficult to impossible to count up to 10 - 15 bubbles per second, hence the reason for the funnel design of the "Double Counter" which creates larger and fewer bubbles that can be easily counted.

The Double Counter is hand-crafted using only the highest quality, laboratory-grade, borosilicate glass for maximum strength, durability, and visual clarity. Each piece is unique.

Install the "Double Counter" inline within the CO2 tubing line and suction to the outside of aquarium. Always install a check valve below the bubble counter to prevent water from flowing back into the regulator.

Approximate size: 9.5 cm x 1.7 cm (L x W)

Instructions for use

The unique funnel design allows larger bubbles to be formed, thus slowing down the bubble rate and allows high CO2 flowrates to be easily monitored

The normal-flow configuration produces regular-sized bubbles for low CO2 flow rates
