Dual-Stage Pressure Regulation
Dual-stage regulators reduce cylinder pressure through two separate pressure-reduction stages. This architecture is designed to provide increased working-pressure stability as cylinder pressure changes over time and to reduce the likelihood of pressure increases as the CO2 cylinder approaches depletion.
The PRO-DS combines this dual-stage architecture with an expanded 0–140 PSI working-pressure range for aquarists who want maximum configuration flexibility from a single regulator platform.
- Two-stage pressure reduction
- Stable and controllable working pressure
- Reduced likelihood of end-of-tank pressure spikes
- Expanded 0–140 PSI output capability
Precision Control & Automation
Each PRO-DS manifold output includes an independently adjustable precision needle valve and integrated bubble counter, allowing CO2 flow to be tuned separately for each connected aquarium.
The integrated electric solenoid allows CO2 injection to be automatically coordinated with the aquarium photoperiod using a standard timer or compatible controller.
Dual gauges provide separate visual references for cylinder pressure and regulator working pressure. The working-pressure gauge is used when setting regulator output pressure, while the cylinder-pressure gauge provides information about pressure within the connected CO2 cylinder.
Bubble rate should be treated as an aquarium-specific reference rather than a universal measurement of dissolved CO2. Actual CO2 requirements vary with aquarium volume, plant mass, lighting, circulation, diffusion efficiency, and surface agitation.
Modular Manifold System
The PRO-DS CO2 System can be configured with one to six manifold blocks, allowing you to build the system around the number of aquariums you currently operate.
- PRO-DS-1: 1 independently controlled aquarium
- PRO-DS-2: 2 independently controlled aquariums
- PRO-DS-3: 3 independently controlled aquariums
- PRO-DS-4: 4 independently controlled aquariums
- PRO-DS-5: 5 independently controlled aquariums
- PRO-DS-6: 6 independently controlled aquariums
Each manifold block includes its own precision needle valve and integrated bubble counter, allowing every connected aquarium to be adjusted independently while sharing a single regulator and CO2 cylinder.
Compatible manifold blocks may also be added later until the six-output configuration is reached.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the PRO-DS CO2 System include everything I need?
The system includes the PRO-DS regulator, selected modular manifold configuration, refillable CO2 cylinder, CO2-resistant tubing, and tank seal. You will also need a compatible diffuser, inline atomizer, or CO2 reactor to introduce CO2 into the aquarium. For added protection against backflow, we recommend using a compatible inline check valve in your CO2 installation.
Does the CO2 cylinder arrive filled?
No. CO2 cylinders ship empty and must be filled by a local CO2 or compressed-gas supplier before use.
Why are one- and two-cylinder options available?
The system can be ordered with either one or two 5 lb aluminum CO2 cylinders. Select the cylinder package that best fits your CO2 supply and installation needs.
What is the benefit of dual-stage regulation?
Dual-stage regulation reduces cylinder pressure through two pressure-reduction stages, providing additional working-pressure stability as cylinder pressure changes and reducing the likelihood of end-of-tank pressure increases.
How many aquariums can the PRO-DS System run?
The system can be configured with one to six manifold blocks. Each block provides one independently adjustable CO2 output with its own precision needle valve and bubble counter.
Can I expand the manifold later?
Yes. Compatible GLA modular manifold blocks can be added as your aquarium system grows, up to the six-output configuration. When expanding an existing regulator, select the manifold generation that matches your regulator because G2 and G3 manifold blocks are not cross-compatible.
Do all connected aquariums receive the same amount of CO2?
No. Each manifold block has its own precision needle valve, allowing CO2 flow to be adjusted independently for each aquarium. This is useful when connected aquariums have different volumes, plant mass, circulation patterns, or CO2 requirements.
Can different aquariums use different CO2 delivery methods?
Yes. Individual outputs may be connected to compatible diffusers, inline atomizers, or reactors provided the connected equipment is operated within its required pressure and flow range. Working pressure is shared by the regulator, while CO2 flow is adjusted independently at each needle valve.
What makes the PRO-DS different from the DS-Mini?
Both the PRO-DS and DS-Mini use dual-stage pressure regulation and modular manifold systems. The PRO-DS is GLA’s full-size dual-stage platform with a 0–140 PSI output range and separate gauges for cylinder pressure and working pressure. The DS-Mini provides dual-stage regulation in a smaller overall footprint with a 0–60 PSI output range and a single working-pressure gauge.
Why does the PRO-DS have a 0–140 PSI output range?
The expanded output-pressure range provides additional configuration flexibility for applications that require higher working pressure. Most aquarium installations will not require the maximum available pressure, and working pressure should always be adjusted to the requirements and operating limits of the connected CO2 equipment.
What do the two gauges monitor?
One gauge monitors CO2 cylinder pressure and the second monitors regulator working pressure. This allows both pressures to be viewed independently during setup and operation.
What size aquarium can I use the PRO-DS on?
The PRO-DS is not restricted to a specific aquarium volume. Appropriate CO2 delivery depends on plant demand, lighting, circulation, diffusion method, surface agitation, and overall system configuration. Its modular architecture also allows one regulator to support multiple aquariums when configured appropriately.
Is the PRO-DS suitable for beginners?
Yes. Dual-stage regulators are not inherently more difficult to operate during normal aquarium use. The PRO-DS is suitable for both beginner and experienced aquarists who want premium dual-stage pressure regulation, expanded working-pressure capability, dual-gauge monitoring, and long-term modular flexibility.
Choosing the Right GLA CO2 Platform
The GLA GRO is our streamlined single-stage platform for aquarists seeking compact, precise CO2 control. The DS-Mini combines dual-stage pressure regulation with a compact modular design, while the PRO-DS is our full-size dual-stage platform with expanded pressure range, dual-gauge instrumentation, and modular configuration options.
The PRO-DS CO2 System packages the PRO-DS regulator with a refillable aluminum CO2 cylinder and CO2-resistant tubing, providing a configurable foundation for single- or multi-aquarium planted CO2 installations.

High Quality Construction, Reputable Brand - Worth the peace of mind
Building out my first tanks with CO2 and chose GLA because of its reputation across the hobby. Having everything needed from the regulator, modular manifolds, and tank made everything a breeze. Setup instructions online were super simple. In addition to this, I grabbed a CO2 diffuser, CO2 Drop Checker, and Check Valve and was good to go. For the tank, most places near me only do tank exchanges, versus refills. That was my only surprise. Tanks using CO2 already seeing amazing results.

Best co2 system for planted tanks.
I spent months comparing systems and discussing on forums and various Facebook pages and GLA always comes out on top every-time. I hooked this up to a Milwaukee ph controller and my co2 has been stable 24/7, I couldn’t be happier. My tank is now fully automated with co2,autodosing and my lights. Now all I do is weekly water changes and regular maintenance. GLA products are second to none.

GLA is the absolute best in the business.
Many many weeks spent researching systems and all the Facebook groups sent me to GLA. Glad I pulled the trigger because it’s absolutely a great purchase. My local stores carry a few known brands but when you get your hands on those you can’t help but think how cheesy they feel for such a premium price. For all those reading my review, here’s what I noticed. UNS,Chihiros and Fzone are all the exact same crap. Two big local stores carry them and ain’t no way I was investing into any of those for that reason. GLA is a huge upgrade all around, better quality build and materials. Customer service was fantastic and shipping was free!

GLA is my go-to for premium co2 equipment.
These days there are so many cheap knock offs. But this is one thing you don’t want go cheap on. GLA is the best in form and function when it comes to a lot of aquascasping supplies and they are known for co2 gear. Especially this modular solenoid system, they are the original pioneers of it all. This thing is butter smooth and operates on my tank daily without a single glitch. It’s rock steady, built strong and looks fantastic. It dwarfs all other brands by its full sized build. It’s an actual dual stage vs a fake dual stage like you see from Fzone and Co2art. All those are the same junk just rebadged toys. Don’t even bother with that crap, it’s cheap for a reason. Nothing quality comes cheap. Thank you GLA for answering all my questions and helping my wife and I along the way.

No better co2 system you can buy than GLA.
No question this is the best co2 system you can find. My LFS carries Co2art and UNS. Compared to this system those are mere toys in comparison. Weird part is they were the same price and Co2art and UNS were precisely the same dookie. The guy at my fish store even recommended to buy GLA over Co2art and UNS lol. That’s all I needed to hear. Upon set up this thing is super well made. Having the ability to see all 3 of these GLA makes a considerably larger and finer piece of equipment. I’d never second guess GLA quality these guys build a terrific regulator.

Best of the very best. The pinnacle in co2 systems.
You can spend all the time in the world like I did looking at co2 systems. After attending the expo in Daytona it’s a no brainer. I saw lots of competing co2 systems everywhere, Co2art,Fzone and a bunch of rebrands that looked exactly like Co2arts and Fzone. When you get a hold of a GLA regulator it’s night and day difference, big ol regulator body and the valve assembly is very nicely made. It’s on my 120cm tank and it’s rock solid everyday. The folks at GLA are also an amazing bunch, friendly and helpful. You should know, GLA invented this solenoid modular manifold system. Why go anywhere else when everybody is trying to copy their designs? That’s why I went with GLA to begin with. The OG’s in co2.

Gla pro ds 1
This is my first and only CO2 system so I don't have a lot to compare it again or anything for that matter and I've had it up and running for about a week so I can't actually speak to long-term durability although I don't anticipate any issues. First of all the package arrived quickly well packaged and in good shape. I am putting this on a 75 gallon planted discus tank. So I am trying to be very cautious about adding CO2 and why I chose the GLA is reviews all seem to agree they had the best needle valve. I have the system on a timer and I am introducing CO2 very very slowly. I started with one bubble every 2 seconds I'm up to about a bubble a second. I found it very easy to make these fine adjustments in the rate of CO2 flow. The regulator is very solidly built and I believe it will last a long time. If I choose to put CO2 on any of my other tanks I will get a gla regulator I don't see where the savings versus any other dual stage regulator are that significant for something that's going to last. I believe this is an excellent product and I'm very happy with my purchase

The best co2 system you can invest in is GLA.
I have experiance with co2 systems from Co2Art and Fzone, I can honestly say those are absolute trash. They were made more like trinkets or toys rather than a quality piece of equipment. Thats exactly what you get from GLA. Quality from top to bottom. We absolutely love the GLA system. Definitely the pride and joy of our aquarium system lol.
