Why Choose the GLA GRO DIN477?
GRO combines the components needed for precise, automated CO2 delivery in one compact regulator. This international version provides the same GRO features with a cylinder connection designed for compatible international CO2 supplies.
- International Cylinder Connection: The W21.8 × 1/14 connection allows installation on compatible international refillable CO2 cylinders without a separate CGA-320 adapter.
- Piston-Type Pressure Regulation: Reduces cylinder pressure to a stable, adjustable working pressure for consistent CO2 delivery.
- Precise CO2 Adjustment: The needle valve provides fine control of CO2 flow and can be rotated 360° for convenient positioning.
- Automatic CO2 Control: The integrated solenoid allows CO2 injection to turn on and off automatically using a timer or compatible controller.
- Easy Monitoring: The working-pressure gauge displays regulator output pressure, while the bubble counter provides a visual reference for adjusting CO2 flow.
- Integrated Protection: A pressure relief valve provides additional protection, while the bubble counter check valve helps prevent aquarium water backflow. Micron filtration helps protect internal regulator components.
- Durable Construction: An aluminum regulator body, precision metal-on-metal valve seat, and quality pneumatic components are designed for long-term use.
- Regional Power Options: Choose an AU, EU, or UK power adapter configuration when ordering.
- USA Inspection & Testing: Every GRO regulator is individually inspected, pressure tested, and leak checked in the USA before shipment.
International CO2 Cylinder Compatibility
The GLA GRO DIN477 regulator uses a W21.8 × 1/14 cylinder connection commonly associated with international CO2 cylinder standards.
Depending on the country and cylinder supplier, compatible connections may be identified using designations such as:
- DIN 477: Commonly used for compatible European CO2 cylinders
- BS 341 No. 8: Used for certain CO2 cylinder connections in the United Kingdom
- Type 30: Used for compatible CO2 cylinder connections in Australia
Important: Cylinder valve connections can vary by country, supplier, and cylinder type. Before ordering, confirm that your CO2 cylinder uses a compatible W21.8 × 1/14 connection. Regional designations alone do not guarantee compatibility.
If you're unsure about your cylinder connection, contact GLA before purchasing.
AU, EU & UK Power Adapter Options
The GRO DIN477 regulator includes an electric solenoid for automatic CO2 on/off control.
When ordering, select the appropriate AU, EU, or UK power adapter from the available product options. The selected adapter is included with your regulator.
This allows you to coordinate CO2 injection with your aquarium's lighting schedule using a timer or compatible controller.

Frequently Asked Questions
What CO2 cylinders are compatible with GRO DIN477?
This regulator uses a W21.8 × 1/14 connection commonly associated with DIN 477 and compatible international CO2 cylinder standards. Confirm the actual cylinder valve connection with your supplier before ordering.
Will this regulator work in Europe, the UK, or Australia?
Yes, provided your CO2 cylinder has a compatible W21.8 × 1/14 connection. Cylinder standards can vary within each country, so compatibility should be confirmed rather than assumed based on location alone.
Does the regulator include a power adapter?
Yes. Select AU, EU, or UK from the available power adapter options when ordering. Your selected adapter is included with the regulator.
What size aquarium can I use GRO DIN477 with?
GRO is suitable for a wide range of planted aquarium sizes. CO2 requirements depend on lighting, plant demand, circulation, and diffusion equipment rather than aquarium volume alone.
Can GRO DIN477 supply multiple aquariums?
Yes. The optional GRO CO2 Splitter allows one regulator to supply multiple aquariums, with independent CO2 flow adjustment for each outlet.
Can I use GRO DIN477 with an inline atomizer or CO2 reactor?
Yes. GRO supports common planted aquarium CO2 diffusion methods, including in-tank ceramic diffusers, external inline atomizers, and compatible reactor systems.
Does this regulator include a CO2 cylinder?
No. This listing includes the GRO DIN477 regulator, its integrated components, the selected power adapter, and the GLA OEM tank seal. A compatible cylinder, CO2-resistant tubing, and diffusion equipment are sold separately.
Will this regulator fit a standard USA CGA-320 cylinder?
No. This model uses the international W21.8 × 1/14 connection rather than CGA-320. For standard USA refillable cylinders, choose the GLA GRO CGA-320 Regulator .
