Description

GLA PRO-DS Dual Stage CO2 Regulator (Modular)

The GLA PRO-DS-1 Dual Stage CO2 Regulator is a premium modular planted aquarium CO2 regulator designed for aquarists seeking maximum pressure stability, scalability, and long-term flexibility. Built for precision, consistency, and dependable long-term performance, the PRO-DS delivers stable and controllable CO2 output through advanced dual-stage architecture.

Engineered with a modular manifold system, the PRO-DS allows you to expand CO2 distribution across multiple aquariums while maintaining independent control of each output line.

Who This Is For

  • Beginner or advanced hobbyists seeking premium dual-stage architecture
  • Expandable planted aquarium systems
  • Multi-aquarium CO2 distribution
  • Aquarists who value modular scalability and long-term flexibility

The PRO-DS is designed for hobbyists who want a modular CO2 platform capable of supporting both current and future planted aquarium systems.

Why Dual Stage Matters

Dual-stage regulators reduce CO2 pressure in two stages, helping provide increased pressure stability as cylinder pressure changes over time while reducing the likelihood of end-of-tank pressure spikes.

  • No end-of-tank pressure spikes
  • Stable working pressure throughout cylinder life
  • Ideal for sensitive and high-demand aquariums

Modular Manifold System

The PRO-DS features a fully modular manifold system, allowing you to expand CO2 distribution to multiple aquariums using a single regulator. Each block provides independent CO2 control and can be added or removed as your system evolves.

  • Expandable multi-aquarium CO2 distribution
  • Independent needle valve control per aquarium
  • Clean, scalable system design

How the Manifold System Works:

  • 1 Block → 1 Aquarium
  • 2 Blocks → 2 Aquariums
  • 3 Blocks → 3 Aquariums
  • 4+ Blocks → Expand as needed (up to 6)

Each block operates independently, allowing precise CO2 adjustment for every aquarium.

FAQ

What is the benefit of dual-stage regulation?
Dual-stage regulators prevent pressure fluctuations as the CO2 cylinder empties, ensuring stable output and eliminating end-of-tank dump.

Can this run multiple aquariums?
Yes. The modular manifold system allows you to expand CO2 distribution to multiple aquariums.

Each block provides one independently controlled CO2 output. Select the number of blocks based on how many aquariums you plan to run (e.g., 3 blocks = 3 aquariums).

Can I expand later?
Yes. Additional manifold blocks can be added as your setup grows.

Is this suitable for beginners?
Yes. While the PRO-DS offers premium dual-stage architecture and modular expandability, it may be used successfully by both beginner and advanced planted aquarium hobbyists. Many aquarists choose modular dual-stage systems specifically for their long-term flexibility and future scalability.

This is the crème de la creme in co2 regulators.

Per a local recommendation and after seeing one at Aquashella. It’s super nice at all levels so don’t waste your time looking at anything else this thing is bad ass.

Best co2 regulator money can buy.

Posted by Thomas Blass on 29th May 2025

I can officially post this review after a solid 7 months of usage. This regulator replaced a what appeared to be a knock off regulator from a competing vendor (Aquarocks Colorado). Granted that thing was cheap money wise it was also cheap everywhere else. GLA should make it so customers can upload photos so I could show you the comparing side by side. Moral of my review is to not go cheap. If it’s cheap, it’s cheap for a reason and not because it’s quality. GLA regulator is heavy and weighed considerably more which to me says has better materials. Whereas that knock off Colorado build was made like a beer can. Looked functional but man was it shitty. Glad I found GLA as it seems they provide quality products across the board vs a bunch of cheap crap for high dollar. Buy with confidence from GLA because they are superior. Just wish I could upload photos GLA!

Impressive build quality on this regulator. Replaced an old Chinese knock off and boy the difference is night and day. Highly recommend GLA co2 regulators. Especially the Pro DS-1

We use nothing less in our shop.

It amazes me how much co2 has changed over the years. So much of the same stuff rebranded over and over. We’ve sold many brands in our shop over the decades. GLA sets the standard. High quality unit and our customers are always happy. We’ve sold hundreds of co2 systems to our clients and not one has had an issue. I can’t say that for UNS,Fzone or Co2Art. Quality control with GLA is better and the packaging itself is fantastic. Happy customers all around.

Buy GLA you don’t regret it.

Posted by Jessica Odell on 20th May 2025

I initially came to buy the co2 reactor they have and decided to upgrade my Co2art regulator. My god what an improvement. You really don’t know how bad your co2 regulator is until you buy a real one from GLA. It’s big,fat and heavy. The precision needle valve is very nice and meshes so well with my co2 reactor. Thanks GLA for putting up with all my emails lol.

    I’d never consider anything less.

GLA was highly recommended in all my Facebook groups as well as forums. Quality product and service was paramount for my purchase and they delivered big time. It was great meeting GLA at the expo no less! This system is top notch. You can easily see why once you get it.

GLA is undoubtably the pinnacle in co2 regulators.

Posted by Niles Carmelo on 10th May 2025

Bought my first GLA regulator last month. Also not my first so I have the ability to do some level of comparison with Co2art. This is leaps and bounds better. Better solenoid, needle valve and more notably the regulator body itself, it’s huge in comparison. I performed a decay and rise test between the two. Co2art still rises a little whereas GLA stays rock steady. I suspect it has something to do with GLa’s superior internal build structure, it’s just so much larger so I’d imagine mechanically it just works better. And that’s that.

    Best co2 regulator in aquascaping.

Posted by Jeff Dupree on 7th May 2025

This is my first GLA CO2 regulator, but not my first co2 regulator. I’ve used quite a few due to being a budget minded aquascaper. However, after basically throwing away what was supposed to be good Co2art regulator and later Fzone regulator it was clear to me I wasted money being cheap. Hence now this GLA regulator that has been working flawlessly now for 3 months, still grand new. The prior regulators would never hold my adjustments leaving me to do constant adjusting. Lots of days and weeks troubleshooting with both vendors ending in failure I gave up the hobby for the winter. When spring hit it was all in with GLA and could not be more pleased. The GLA Pro DS is double in size and uses the best needle valve. It won’t fall out of adjustment unless my cat goes climbing on it. If you are in the market for a solid co2 regulator definitely go with GLA. There is simply no comparison with the otters.

Best of the best in the co2 business.

Posted by Jonathan H Tanner on 25th Apr 2025

Only GLA co2 regulators for our store. We have other brands from Ultum,Chihiros and Co2Art and not a single one compares to a GLA regulator. Those other brands are all the exact same crap just different colors. It’s amazing they are cool with that. The crazy part is in photos they look great, but in real life they are like vending machine toys. We sell mostly freshwater goods and even our reef customers prefer GLA. We even have hydroponic growers who buy GLA regulators for grow operations because apparently they are known in that industry as well. Needless to say if you are in the market for a co2 regulator buy GLA. The rest are just knock offs of what GLA produces.

This is top tier in co2 gear.

Posted by Boss Kenan on 21st Apr 2025

I’m sure I echo many of people who agree to this because you will not find a better co2 system anywhere. You can find cheaper, but you will get cheaper. Especially with the actual valving. I did reach out to GLA and they are coming out with either video comparison or photo comparisons to other brands. I was lucky enough to see them already in photo form. The Fzone and Co2art brands are cheap junk. If you want to see for yourself email them and ask, I’m sure they will be happy to oblige. When I saw the valve construction I was amazed how anybody could accept that level of dookie for the price. Total junk. The GLA gear was an absolute night vs day difference. Co2art was more expensive even! And you get junk for that money. Almost like it’s make believe co2 equipment. No idea why folks like that crap. GLA is the top of the mountain in co2 regulators.
