Description

GLA Estimative Index (EI) Aquarium Fertilizer Package – NPK + Micronutrients (Bags)

High-Dose Nutrient System for Planted Aquariums Using the EI Dosing Method

The GLA Estimative Index (EI) Aquarium Fertilizer Package provides a complete dry fertilizer system for advanced aquascapers following the Estimative Index (EI) dosing method. This system supplies all essential macronutrients (N, P, K, Mg) and micronutrients (Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, B, Mo) in high-purity, aquarium-formulated forms, making it ideal for planted aquariums with high light, CO2 injection, and dense plant growth.

The included Micros DTPA & EDTA chelated trace mix is custom formulated and blended by GLA for freshwater planted aquariums and is free of bulk fillers or unnecessary additives. Trace elements are chelated for stability and consistent uptake under typical aquarium conditions.

EI dosing involves alternating daily doses of macro- and micronutrients over six days, followed by a 50% water change to reset nutrient levels. No test kits are required for water column nutrients—simply maintain stable CO2 at approximately 30 ppm using a drop checker.

Estimative Index (EI) Aquarium Nutrients Package

Posted by Best Fertilizer available on 21st Jun 2024

Hands down the best fertilizer I have used

    High quality aquarium fertilizer.

Posted by Jason Osburg on 12th Sep 2022

Switched from Niloc bags because those bags were just crap. The potasium at GLA is also much higher quality. Also GLA GH Booster is the best I have used, including Seachem. The GLA stuff is just super nice and fluffy. This EI kit will grow plants like crazy so get your scissors ready.

    Really good deal.

Posted by Seth McPherson on 11th Sep 2022

Good deal on this kit. My tank is large so I have to dose EI I have no other options. Liquid dosing would be stupid expensive so I use this. This is my 4th kit from GLA and its always perfect.

    Super happy!

Posted by Trisha Willson on 11th Sep 2022

Very happy with my new EI bags kit. This is a refill from my previous kit from a year ago although I was dosing PPS at that time. My tank is a fast growing duct tank and I use T5HO lights from TEK so its super high PAR and I felt it was time to start EI dosing. Its been a banger improvement. I do perform very large water changes on Sunday with this EI system and I feel it works better for my system than PPS. My plant load is massive and thick so I need a little extra of everything. The bags are very nice, they stand up and make it easy to dose daily without trouble. Love these bags!

    Worth every penny.

Posted by Bill Wallace on 16th Aug 2022

I dont know why folks buy that liquid stuff. You can make gallons of liquid fertilizer with this alone. Use that fertilizer calculator and your set to go. If you cant use a calculator thats fill in the blank this product is not for you. If you want t grow plants to maximum ability on the cheap, this is for you.

    Great planted aquarium fertilizer system.

Posted by Ian Rashad on 31st Jul 2021

Ive never used this type of fertilizer before. I always used liquid but felt my tank was always lacking so I gave this a try. I noticed improvement in only 3 days time. Dosing is easy and quite fun. My plants are much more happy and that makes me happy:)

    E I. Fert set

As always, gla is rock solid. I have used these in the past with good success. Next Time though, I think I’ll spring for the jars instead of the packets.

    My plants thank you!

Posted by Megan Short on 12th Jan 2020

As a beginner I was very skeptical if I would be able to use dry fertilizers in my aquariums( I have 3). The first thing I noticed was how quickly my plants responded to using GLA fertilizers. After only a few days of dosing I was shooting myself in the foot for not going this route a year ago. I would have saved myself loads of money not buying these all in one fertilizers in premixed bottles. This is so easy to do and will cost you pennies compared to liquid dosing. If your just starting out dont hesitate to go with GLA fertilizers because its super easy. It also cost next to nothing compared to liquid fertilizers, what a waste of money.

    Best fertilizer kit

Posted by Benjamin Cox on 7th Jan 2020

Dry salt fertilizers are the best way to go. You dont waste any money on buying a premixed bottle of mostly water . When using dry salts you can create your own mix for pennies. I dont know why anybody would consider using liquid fertilizer compared to this. My plants in all 3 tanks look better than they ever did using the all on in solutions I have been buying. Needless to say I will never buy all in one premixed solution ever again. Stop wasting your money on bottled fertilizer and go dry salts. You will be 100% glad you did, and save loads of money doing it. Thanks Laura for helping me pick the correct kit for my tanks. GLA ferts make them look so good! My only complaint is I cant share pics of how awesome my tanks look.

    EI package

Posted by Robert Hoffmann on 18th Apr 2019

Its definitely worth trying. My plants are growing like crazy. Even new plants act like nothing has happened and just start to grow and be happy. Im currently using co2 around 20ppm and everything is well balanced now. I was trying to use seachem products and they were not working very well at all for me.

    Almost perfect bundle

Posted by Jesse on 24th Mar 2019

This is a great little bundle to get started with ei dosing. It includes macros and micros, as well as easy to follow dosing instructions on one of the bags. The only thing that could improve this bundle would be a set of measuring spoons, dosing for smaller tanks is as little as 1/32 of a teaspoon a day, it would be nice if tiny measuring spoons were included for these smaller ammounts. I used larger measuring spoons to make a dilution with water which works, but dry dosing is probably easier. Overall I would still highly recommend though!

Better packaging in black bags than the older clear bags. Ferts will keep longer.
