Description

GLA Micros Micromix – Chelated Trace Mix for Nature Aquariums (Bag)

DTPA + EDTA Chelated Micronutrients for EI & PPS-Pro Aquarium Fertilization – Formulated Specifically for Nature Aquariums

GLA Micromix Micros is a professional-grade dry micronutrient blend formulated specifically for planted aquariums using PPS-Pro or Estimative Index (EI) dosing methods. It provides a complete spectrum of essential trace elements—including iron, manganese, zinc, boron, molybdenum, and copper—chelated with DTPA and EDTA for stability and consistent uptake across a wide range of aquarium water parameters.

GLA Micromix Micros is custom formulated and blended in our facility specifically and exclusively for planted aquariums and modern aquascaping systems. Unlike general-purpose agricultural or crop trace blends that have been adapted for aquarium use (such as Plantex CSM / NutriTrace), GLA Micromix is designed for submerged aquatic plant uptake and long-term stability in closed aquarium environments, where nutrient behavior, dilution, water clarity, and livestock sensitivity all matter.

Balanced Trace Levels for Consistent Dosing

In aquariums, trace elements accumulate differently than in soil-based systems. GLA Micromix Micros uses controlled micronutrient concentrations that support healthy plant growth across a wide range of aquascape styles without excessive trace input. This allows aquarists to dose predictably and adjust fertilization to match light, CO2 levels, and plant mass without unnecessary buildup of individual trace elements.

Clean, Pure, and Designed for Water Clarity

GLA Micromix Micros contains no fillers, bulking agents, or unnecessary additives. It is cleanly blended to dissolve predictably and avoid the dusty or “dirty” appearance often associated with commodity trace mixes. The result is targeted micronutrient supplementation without unwanted impacts on water clarity or chemistry.

Advanced Chelation for Aquarium Conditions (DTPA + EDTA)

Using a combined DTPA + EDTA chelation strategy, Micromix Micros provides stable, bioavailable iron and trace elements across a wide range of pH and hardness levels. This makes it fully compatible with PPS-Pro and EI dosing systems while maintaining predictable nutrient availability.

Recommended For

  • EI and PPS-Pro dosing systems (suitable for both liquid stock preparation and dry dosing)
  • CO2-injected planted aquariums
  • Aquascapers who want an aquarium-formulated trace mix with copper (safe for most invertebrates but not recommended for sensitive shrimp species or those who prefer a copper-free approach)

Includes:

  • GLA Micros Micromix (With Copper) – 0.5 lb Bag

Chelated Trace Content:

  • Magnesium (Mg): 1.50%
  • Iron (Fe) [DTPA]: 7.00%
  • Boron (B): 0.70%

    Way better than CSM+B!

Posted by Brian Sampson on 27th Jul 2025

This is very nice high grade micro fertilizer. Not a fan of CSM+B with all the stunting and twisted leaves. I just didn’t feel it was cut for aquascaping. Now this, this is amazing stuff, no stunting and no more twisted leaves. While more expensive it’s totally worth it because it makes a ton of liquid if you want a premix into solution which I do with an old 500ml bottle from my PPS kit. I’m just glad GLA finally made a good micro!

This stuff is way better than Plantex CSM. Perfect ratios all around and mixes perfectly, no residue! My plants are loving this new micro, thanks GLA!

    The best micros!

Posted by Emily New on 29th Aug 2022

Recently switched from the old GLA micros to this 3 months ago, wow! My greens have never been so green and I easily trim my tank twice as much now, thats my only complaint. You have ot be ready to when the plants respond. My plants started to grow much much faster since switching up my micros routine. I also started weekly water changes to help kick my tank into gear. This bag goes a very long way and cost a fraction of what a liquid option cost. I feel this works better for my tank because of the DTPA now that I use RO and GH Booster. 4 months and I barely made a dent into the bag. Loving this!

    Good micro mix

Easy to use, just mix with water and add to the tank. I dose every day using PPS PRO ratios and so far, so good!
