Description

GLA Micros Micromix – Chelated Trace Mix for Nature Aquariums (Jar)

DTPA + EDTA Chelated Micronutrients for EI & PPS-Pro Aquarium Fertilization - Formulated Specially for Nature Aquariums

GLA Micromix Micros is a professional-grade dry micronutrient blend formulated specifically for planted aquariums using PPS-Pro or Estimative Index (EI) dosing methods. It provides a complete spectrum of essential trace elements—including iron, manganese, zinc, boron, molybdenum, and copper—chelated with DTPA and EDTA for stability and consistent uptake across a wide range of aquarium water parameters.

GLA Micromix Micros is custom formulated and blended in our facility specifically and exclusively for planted aquariums and modern aquascaping systems. Unlike other general-purpose agricultural or crop trace blends that have been adapted for aquarium use (Plantex CSM / Nutritrace), GLA Micromix is designed specially for submerged aquatic plant uptake and long-term stability in closed aquarium environments, where nutrient behavior, dilution, water clarity, and livestock sensitivity all matter.

Balanced Trace Levels for Consistent Dosing

In aquariums, trace elements accumulate differently than in soil-based systems. GLA Micromix Micros uses controlled micronutrient concentrations that support healthy plant growth across a wide range of aquascape styles without excessive trace input. This allows aquarists to dose predictably and adjust fertilization to match light, CO2 levels, and plant mass without unnecessary buildup of individual trace elements.

Clean, Pure, and Designed for Water Clarity

GLA Micromix Micros contains no fillers, bulking agents, or unnecessary additives. It is cleanly blended to dissolve predictably and avoid the dusty or “dirty” appearance often associated with commodity trace mixes. The result is targeted micronutrient supplementation without unwanted impacts on water clarity or chemistry.

Advanced Chelation for Aquarium Conditions (DTPA + EDTA)

Using a combined DTPA + EDTA chelation strategy, Micromix Micros provides stable, bioavailable iron and trace elements across a wide range of pH and hardness levels. This makes it fully compatible with PPS-Pro and EI dosing systems while maintaining predictable nutrient availability.

Recommended For

  • EI and PPS-Pro dosing systems (suitable for both liquid stock and dry dosing)
  • CO2-injected planted aquariums
  • Aquascapers who want an aquarium-formulated trace mix with copper (safe for most invertebrates but is not recommended for sensitive shrimp species or those who prefer a copper-free approach)

New Micro from GLA is superb. Much better than the old CSM+B product we had for ages. This is special and long overdue.

This is the best dry micro in the aquarium hobby.

Posted by Frank on 12th Jul 2025

Without a doubt this is the best micros and I’m pretty sure this is new because I’ve been buying GLA micros for years and this new formula works so much better. I also noticed they have a copper free option available. This formulation mixes much better than the old stuff and the values are much better balanced. You’re not going to find this anywhere else cheaper or even in comparison. Definitely recommend this if your into DIY mixing your own.

This is the best micro fertilizer for your planted tank.

This is a new fertilizer from GLA as I’ve been a long time customer who use to buy Plantex CSM+B. That was never truly designed for aquascaping. My first few weeks with this has been award worthy if there ever was one. In the hobby you can’t find a dry micro made for aquascsping, until now. This has been amazing as my Ei liquid micro. Completely balanced and no overdosing of copper or boron. This stuff has my plants looking top notch. Way to go GLA on another fantastic product brought to the hobby yet again.
