AQUA SOIL clears aquarium water and provides good water conditions for the healthy growth of aquatic plants. Its colloid particles capture dirt floating in the water. It decreases water hardness and lowers the pH level to a degree at which most aquatic plants grow comfortably. AQUA SOIL granules are of ideal size and density for fast development of healthy plants root systems. Bag size: 9 liters. Based on tank size, below is recommended usage:

  • 30 x 30 x 30cm (12 x 12 x 12in) aquarium size ----> 1/2 bag
  • 40 x 30 x 30cm (16 x 12 x 12in) aquarium size ----> 2/3 bag
  • 60 x 40 x 40cm (24 x 16 x 16in) aquarium size ----> 2 bags
  • 90 x 45 x 45cm (36 x 18 x 18in) aquarium size ----> 3 bags
  • 120 x 50 x 50cm (48 x 20 x 20in) aquarium size ----> 5 bags

Usage Instructions

  • Do not wash product before use.
  • 9 liters of Aqua Soil is the average quantity necessary to set up a 60 liter (15 gallon) aquarium (W60 x D30 x H36).
  • Distribute the Aqua Soil evenly on the aquarium bottom. For ideal conditions, lower the level of the soil in the front portion of the tank, with a high soil level in the rear of the tank.
  • Planting is easier when the water level is low enough to only just cover the Aqua Soil substrate.
  • Fill the aquarium with water after planting. Pour the water gently on a plate or mug to slowly avoid clouding the aquarium water.
  • The water may become cloudy after setup. This cloudiness disappears in a few hours with a properly functioning filtration system.

Usage Guidelines

  • Aqua Soil lowers the hardness and the pH level of the aquarium water.
  • Aqua Soil is not recommended for aquariums with fish that prefer a high pH level or with marine aquariums.
  • It is not recommended to position the fitler outflow pipe in a way that the water flow directly hits the soil substrate. It will disperse the soil in cause the water to cloud.
  • An under gravel filter should not be used with Aqua Soil.
  • Aqua Soil promotes tank conditions of low hardness and slightly acid water. This condition is especially suitable to plants that prefer growth in these conditions, liek Tonina sp., Eriocaulaceae sp., etc.
