Micranthemum umbrosum or Giant Baby Tears originates in North America; found in the southeast growing in ponds, ditches and streams. Commonly found growing emersed in the summer and submersed in the winter. Relatively undemanding plant, best growth in bright light. Faster growth with CO2 supplementation, produces larger leaves. Easily propagate by cutting along a main stem and replanting in substrate, new roots will form. Brighter light allows ideal growth of foreground plant; in lower light conditions consider planting as midground plant.
